Apple Pressing Party!

Thanks so much to Grandma Dianne for offering her one large apple tree for an afternoon of picking and juicing.  It was a beautiful sunny fall day, and everyone big and small got to pick, crunch, press, pour and drink down the golden sunshine in a cup.  I loved watching how everyone fell into the working gears of different jobs, rotating and mixing in a natural flow as each person came and went, taking turns trying out the variety of roles.  Such teamwork!  Thanks also to the Farmland Acquisition for the community use of such a brilliant apple press.  We so enjoy using it every year.  Each family took home many litres of juice for freezing or canning.  It is deeply satisfying to drink up the memories of fall apple pressing parties in the middle of winter!
